Santoine: okay okay this looks really good, but I cannot ignore the references of ‘becoming blacker’ and the need to sing soul music. I mean, black soul music has infiltrated every damn body on this planet. Those girls can sing. I just find it interesting how they needed to embody blackness in order to appeal. I feel like blackness is being sexualized and objectified. I understand why. I get it. It’s sitting funny with me. I just have to ruminate on this longer. But, thank you for the suggestion.
